PT. Honda Prospect Motor ("HPM", "We," "Us" or "Our") is dedicated to providing products and after sales services of the highest quality and standard to its customers. We value the trust of our Customers for sharing their Information, Data, Personal Information, Sensitive Personal Data/Information (hereinafter collectively referred to as “Data collected” or“Data”) and strive to maintain the privacy and protection of their Data shared with usin connection with purposes related to connected car functions and services (in short the “Services”) and the Honda Connect Application (in short the "Application"), in accordance with reasonable security practices and procedures under the applicable law, as amended from time to time.
We shall use the Data collected from you, to enable you to avail the services and use the application in an effective, functional and in a manner beneficial to you. This Privacy Policy provides information and helps you to understand the data collection, transfer, sharing, use, international transfer activities and protection of the data collected from you when you visit our website, download, and use the Application, use our products and services. The Data collected shall/may also include Personal Information as well as Sensitive Personal Data/Information of the users who have registered an account for availing the Services and using the Application ("You", "Your", or "Yours"). We do not intend to collect or use any data/information related to persons less than 17 years of age (minors), However, in relation to this, we solely rely on your declaration.
You shall have an option to opt-out and/or withdraw your consent of the Services and the Application by contacting Honda customer support. You can contact Honda Customer Care Tel. 0-800-14-46632 to review the Data provided at your end and to ensure that your personal information or Sensitive Personal Data/Information is not inaccurate or deficient. However, HPM shall not be responsible for authenticity of the Data provided from your end.
By clicking Accept the "I accept above Privacy Policy" button, you acknowledge that you have read this Privacy Policy, fully understood the same and acknowledge/ provide your permission/informed consent the way the Data collected shall be used/ processed.
This Privacy Policy does not cover information that you submit on interactive features and digital services which are provided by third parties. For example, if you post something on Facebook or Twitter, or if you provide your information on other apps in which we certified that they can be used along with the Application, that information is governed by the privacy policies on those websites/applications and is not governed by this Privacy Policy.
The Data is collected from you when you provide details to avail the Services and register on the Application or when you update the details. We may also collect your Data from other sources, including but not limited to the authorized dealers, your insurance broker/ intermediary or insurance companies whom you have contracted, our service providers like HPM call centers whom you have contacted, company in case of corporate sale, Experience Honda, voice command interface/applications.
1. Information we collected
We collect personal information from you when you provide your information to us or when you update your information to us. This may include, but not limited to, the following information. (collectively "Personal Data").
- Personal Information, Personal Sensitive Information/Data and contact information, including but not limited to your name and family name, date of birth, gender, email, phone number, physical address, contact in case of emergency, marital status, your Honda Connect account details including username and password.
- Data pertaining to your purchases and services you choose, including but not limited to payment information, information and queries and complaints relating to products and services, or respective contracts entered into such as warranty claims, after sales services, repairs, customer care and services, rescissions and disputes, dealer appointments, and information that you provide for other services such as car insurance you have chosen.
- Data in connection with product and services marketing, including but not limited to information relating to newsletter and other communication channels, opt-ins and opt-outs, invitations to and participations at events and special activities, privileges offered and/or received, personal preferences and interests, survey questionnaire responses and customer segmentation information;
- Information about your use of the Services and the Application, including history and details of services usage, information which you searched for on the Application, marketing and communication details (e.g. your satisfaction with the receipt of marketing information from us and your satisfaction with services relating to communication), and your Data which we will notify you if we collect such information.
- Data in connection with communication including but not limited to preferred means of communication, correspondence and communication with HPM in relation to the Services and/or the Application (including records of the communication).
- Information about your Honda vehicle (the "Vehicle"), including its performance, Status and location information about your driving behavior, car status, trip logs, mileages, Experience Honda and remote vehicle control. If you use the content delivery services (i.e. the ability for you to issue voice commands to your vehicle), we (ourselves or through a third party provider) may collect your voice and text queries associated with your voice commands, as well as the voices of those around you in the vehicle or home when you are providing such commands or when they issue commands themselves (“Voice Data”). The Information may also include your location data, including the real-time geographical location of your Internet-enabled device or your vehicle, which may personally identify you and/or your vehicle.
- Social Media. Our websites and mobile application include features to sign up using social media account and social networking features connected to social networking platforms such as Facebook, X, Instagram, and other platforms. These features may collect information about your basic personal information (name, email, and other information), IP address and the pages you visit on our website, and these platforms may create cookies or use other tracking technologies. Social media features and facilities may be set up by a third party or set up directly on our website or mobile application. Your interactions with those features will be governed by the privacy policies of the companies providing these features.
- Cookies – Statistical Information (the "Cookies"). For statistical purposes, we collect information on website activity through the use of Cookies. When you visit a Honda Website, a record of your visit is logged. The following data is supplied by your browser:
- Your IP Address and or Domain Name;
- Your Operating System (type of browser and platform);
- The date, time, and length of your visit to the website; and
- The resources you accessed and the documents you downloaded
This Cookies information on its own does not identify an individual but it does provide us with statistics that can be used to analysis and improve our website. If you do not want Cookies to be used, please adjust your browser to disable them.
- Other data from your device and other technologies. We and our third-party service providers may use a variety of technologies that collect and provide information about how the Application is used. We may also automatically collect your IP address or other unique identifier for the mobile device, technology or other device (collectively, "Device") you use to access the Application, login details, connectivity, types of browser, operating system, other technologies on the equipment that you use to access the Application, features or information of the Application that you have visited, time spent on each page of the Application. Usage Information and device identifier generally cannot be linked to you individually, but if we can link them or any other information to you, we treat it as your Information, Data, Personal Information, Sensitive Personal Data/Information in accordance with this Privacy Policy.
In case we use certain types of information described above in the way that would enable us to identify you, we will treat such information in the same manner, as it were your Personal Information.
This Privacy Policy also applies to the collection, use and sharing of Users’ Personal Information by our parent company, Honda Motor Co., Ltd. and its affiliates and subsidiaries.
2. How we process your Data
2.1 Purposes
We process your Data for the purposes set out below:
- To administrate the Application to provide you with our Services and to enable your access to, and use of, the Application and the Services;
- To communicate with you and provide our Services and those of our affiliates (which includes Honda Motor Co. Ltd., Japan, Honda R&D Co. Ltd., Japan, Asian Honda Motor Co., Ltd and other Honda Companies);
- To evaluate and improve our services, such as developing new products or services and improve and manage working system;
- To perform internal accounting, auditing, administration, and processing of information relating to your transactions and other internal functions of HPM and its affiliates;
- To process and manage your payment and/or any other transactions related to HPM and its affiliates;
- To conduct market research, surveys and direct marketing purposes;
- To tailor advertisements of HPM and its affiliates on the Application and elsewhere to your possible interests;
- To comply with industry standards and our policies;
- To conduct data analytics and customer relations management programs of HPM and its affiliates
- To offer, transmit, communicate and/or to carry out any marketing, public relations and promotional activities relating to goods, services, promotions, activities and special offers of HPM and its affiliates, general information of HPM and its affiliates including other forms of customer relationship management via communication channels;
- To enable our third party providers, for instance Voice Data, insurance services, discounts etc., to provide relevant responses to your commands, or for these third party providers to improve / offer their Services and other products for the user;
- To provide you and our authorized dealers with necessary support;
- To attend to or assist in the servicing, maintenance or repair of your vehicle, including the provision of roadside assistance services
- To carry out our legal compliance obligations, such as to conduct a product safety recall where necessary
- To provide you with notifications and information about your Vehicle
- To inform you of a field service action affecting your Vehicle;
- To send you service reminders;
- To be in compliance with relevant laws, or rules and regulations, requests from government agencies and policies of HPM, and for enforcement and exploitation of legal rights and claims, defense against legal claims, litigation, complaints, combating abusive conduct, engaging in legal investigations and proceedings and responding to inquiries of public authorities;
- To prevent and investigate frauds, illegal activities, omission of duties or misconduct which may or may not cause by or be relating to the services provision of HPM <and its affiliates>;
- To protect customers, employees and other individuals and protection of data, secrets and assets of and entrusted to HPM and our affiliates, and protect the safety of systems and premises of HPM and our affiliates;
- For sale or acquisitions of business divisions, companies or parts of companies and other corporate transactions and the transfer of customer data associated therewith; and
- For other lawful purposes where such processing was evident from the circumstances or indicated at the time of the collection.
- To collect, disclose and transfer data under this policy to third parties to enable you to avail the services and use the application in an effective, functional and in a manner beneficial to you.
- To collect, disclose and transfer data under this policy to third parties for the purpose of offering additional services, promotions, offers, or privileges to you.
2.2 Legal basis
In general, you are required to provide your Data to obtain full Services from us, except in limited instances when we expressly indicate that the collection of certain information is voluntary and its processing is based on your consent (e.g. in connection with user satisfaction surveys). Please note we may not be able to provide you with the full or effective Services or you may not be able to use the Application properly, if you do not consent to provide us with the Data.
Furthermore, we rely on the following legal justifications for the processing of your Data.
- It is necessary for the performance of contract of which you are a party or in order to take steps at your request prior to entering into a contract (e.g. to provide you with the Services);
- It is necessary for legitimate interests of HPM or any other third parties, where such interests are not overriding your fundamental rights of Privacy (e.g. where it is necessary to disclose your Data to third parties to provide you with the Services on our behalf);
- It is necessary for legal compliance;
- It is for preventing or suppressing a danger to a person’s life, body or health;
- It is necessary for our performance of duties in carrying out mission for public interest or in exercising the assigned power of the state; or
- It is necessary for the purpose of establishing legal claims, complying with or exercise of legal claims or defense of legal claims.

3. Who we share your Data with
HPM also reserves the right to disclose and/or transfer the anonymized data to third parties. We may disclose and/or transfer the Data to the following categories of recipients for the purposes as specified in this Privacy Policy:
- Our affiliates: We may disclose and/or transfer your Data to the affiliates i.e. any company that directly or indirectly controls, is controlled by or is under common control with the respective company, which includes Honda Motor Co. Ltd., Japan, Honda R&D Co. Ltd., Japan, Asian Honda Motor Co. Ltd., and other Honda Companies, for the purposes as specified in this Privacy Policyand to assure you that use of the Application is secure, smooth and efficient, and help us improve the Services to be suitable, to be in compliance with laws, to provide support and promotions for Services offered on the Application, and for the achievement of administrative purposes and legitimate interests of HPM and our affiliates and to develop the business operation.
- Service providers: We may disclose and/or transfer your Data to our third-party service providers, including our call centers, as part of our normal course of business for several purposes including facilitating your use of services.
- Third parties: For the purpose of offering additional services, promotions, offers, or privileges to you and/or for the purposes as specified in this Privacy Policy, we may disclose or transfer your Data to the third parties, including but not limited to, acting as controllers as follows:
- our authorized dealers who have sold you the HPM vehicle or offer services to you;
- our suppliers and other business partners within the lawful purposes specified herein;
- acquirers or parties interested in acquiring business units, companies or other parts of HPM or our affiliates; and
- other parties in potential or actual legal proceedings in accordance with applicable law, as amended from time to time.

- However, third parties shall not further disclose the Sensitive Personal Data or Information, if any, received from HPM.
Courts and Government Entities: We may disclose your Data to governmental agencies, regulatory authorities or courts and other local, national and foreign authorities in accordance with legal requirements and the applicable law, as amended from time to time.
HPM is not responsible in any manner for the consequences / impact of the promotions, offers, additional services and other services for the customer / user.
Your provision to us, our authorized dealers, or agents of your information will constitute your consent for us to disclose this information as described in this Privacy Policy.
- Disclaimer: Cookies information is used by Honda to improve our services. It is never given to any other company for that company's independent use.
4. Cross-border Data transfer
We may transfer your Data outside INDONESIA HPM will take necessary steps for the protection of the Data that is transferred outside INDONESIA and will ensure that the receiving entity shall have the same reasonable level of data protection that is adhered to by HPM as provided for under reasonable security practices and procedures under the applicable law, as amended from time to time.
HPM will create a backup data outside INDONESIA to store the Data including personal and sensitive personal information of the user. However, financial data shall not be stored outside HPM.
5. Security
We use reasonable organizational, technical and administrative measures, to protect your Data from accidental, unlawful, or unauthorized destruction, loss, access, use, alteration, or disclosure under our control. Unfortunately, no data transmission over the Internet or data storage system(s) can be fully secured. We exclude all liability (including negligence) for the consequences of any unauthorized access to, disclosure of, misuse of or loss or corruption of your Data.
HPM further urges you to follow best and safe security practices for your device on which the Application is installed and also in relation to access to the internet so as to avoid any breach of Data happening at your end. HPM shall not be responsible for any breach and consequential misuse of Data originated at your end. Therefore, the Application will not work/ is not intended to work on jail broken/rooted phones/devices. HPM cannot guarantee or verify the contents of any externally linked website despite its best efforts. You should therefore note, that if you click on any external links at their own risk and this website/ Honda Connect Mobile Application and its owners cannot be held liable for any damages or implications caused by visiting any external links mentioned.
6. How long we retain your Data
We will retain your Data for the period necessary to fulfil the purposes outlined in this Privacy Policy and for the period required pursuant to applicable law, as amended from time to time. When we are no longer permitted by the applicable laws to store your Data, we will remove it from our systems and records, and/or take necessary steps to anonymize your Data so that you can no longer be identified. In the event a judicial or disciplinary action is initiated, your Data may be stored until the end of such action, including any potential periods for appeal, and will then be deleted or archived as permitted by the applicable laws, as amended from time to time.
7. Updates to the Privacy Policy
HPM reserves the right at any time at our discretion and without notice to change this Privacy Policy simply by posting such change on the website/ the Application. You will be put to notice of such change in the application with request for your consent & acceptance to the change. However, if you choose not to provide your consent to the change, it may prevent you from being able to use all or certain parts of our Application and/or service. The continued usage of the Honda Connect Application following changes to these terms shall mean that you accept these changes.
If you would like to stop receiving marketing/ sales/ service communications from us, you may inform us via email, telephone and/or in written form by using our below contact information in "How to Contact Us". The changes may not be effective immediately. We will proceed with your request as soon as we can. If you would like to stop receiving marketing / sales/ service communications from us, we will continue to send other information related to important services management to you and you may not cease to receive such information.
8. Your Rights and Choices
You have the right to access or request copy of your Personal Data held by us and, if necessary, have it amended to correct any errors. You can also request us to disclose how your Personal Data was obtained if without the consent from you. You are entitled to require us to delete or destroy or temporarily suspend the use of your personal data, or convert it into information which cannot identify who you are, when we fail to comply with our commitment under this Privacy Policy.
You can request deletion of your personal information stored on the Honda Connect app by contacting Honda using the contact details provided in section 10 and requesting deletion of your Honda Connect account, or deleting your Honda Connect account directly from the Honda Connect app.
We will try to comply with your request as soon as reasonably practicable. Note that despite our efforts, there may be residual information that will remain within our databases and other records, which will not be removed or changed. Further, please note that we may need to retain certain information in compliance with applicable laws.
